I tried to leave a message, saying id be late,
to go and vote without me, extend the hand of fate,
to go out in your multitudes and fill the ballot box
to pencil in your X’s choice, the future thus unlock.
I’m sure you’ve all been thinking very hard for quite some time
Economy. Environment. The NHS and crime,
the state of Education, the potholes on our roads,
the aftermath of Brexshit and it’s toxic overload.
I’m sure that you’ve considered all these issues far and wide
and thought about the consequences hidden deep inside
You’ve listened to the arguments and cogitated well
You’ve even read the literature and seen the leaves foretell.
Ahead of us are choices, an empty box to fill
A future that will turn towards the choices of our will…
So will it be a victory for tolerance or hate?
Will it be a choice you make to take the poisoned bait?
Will it be a chance to make a kind and better world
Or did you buy the bullshit on the toxic flags unfurled
