A wise man sits with head in hands, these days are getting stranger

He looks towards tomorrow knowing ahead of us is danger,

The choices that we make deliver outcomes ever starker,

A wise man sits with worried eyes these days are getting darker.

A fool sits blinded by the light and thinks its getting brighter

Delighted by his own deceits he’s glad that he’s a fighter

We’ll settle scores and win the wars and prove that we are stronger

The blinded fool breaks all the rules and honours life no longer.

The wise man and the fool agree the hours pass in time

Ahead of us uncertainty and a hill that we must climb

We’re half way up and half way down – its time to draw the line

And notice what’s occurring in the depths of humankind.
