Twice upon a time we saw duplicity and doublespeak,
as populism rose it spoke of blame towards the weak.
It vilified and magnified aspersions and traduced,
producing slogans full of anger
‘Stop the Boats’ and ‘Save our Kids’
With ill will running freely in manipulated streams
we see the playbook and its fuckery transposed in mindless dreams
We see a thuggery, skulduggery & malice in intent
In flags that fly upon the wind
upon the poles of discontent.
Ingredients may include Ham – the cooked version of Gammon.
Gammon – a pejorative term referring to the florid complexion of angry white folk.
Insults lead us nowhere useful.
