Our peas are growing nicely,
in pods they plumply form
as tendrils creep on pea-sticks steep
they’re coming on a storm.
The sunshine has caressed them as
I watched them stretch and grow
hydrated from a watering can
from seedlings that were sown.
If only I’d grown more of them
I’d have enough to share
and flood the world with peas and love
sent kindness everywhere.
But as it is my harvest
of juicy petit pois
will only feed the two of us
( if they even get that far )
