Silence came and found me
as I walked towards the dread,
Its gift of understanding quelled the riot in my head,
for a moment i was able to
find breath that i could take
and begin to process slowly what was real and what was fake.
From the edges moving centre
to the fields of disarray
I was found within a maelstrom of these dislocated days,
from the spiralling of nonsense
and the web of wicked lies
I was catapulting logic full of complicated why’s,
I was held within cacophony,
explosions coming near
when the silence came to find me,
tried to dampen down my fears.
Close your eyes it said and know that there is little you can do
but prepare yourself to deal with all the feelings coming through,
in the times ahead of darkness you must hold on to the light
be the beacon shining brightly as we head beyond the night,
in the morning kiss the sunshine feel its warmth upon your skin
know that endings are beginnings, feel the quietness rush in.
Silence came to find me, shushed anxiety and dread
whilst its gift of understanding quelled the riot in my head.
