kakistocracy

In a vulgar kakistocracy we find ourselves once more

A dictionary thus confirmed, i needed to be sure…

If scruples faced a scrutiny we’d see the truth more brutally

when morals met a mutiny we’d recognise its crudity.

Reflections meet us ruefully, imbued with orange lunacy

where actions are presumably protected by immunity.

For in this kakistroacy, where profits rise most fruitfully

we’ll feel the painful eulogy of common held community.

The lie is told most lucidly by those with sheer impunity

who demonstrate most provably the veil has lost translucency.

Kakistocracy – a 17th Century word coined to mean

‘ a state or society governed by its least competent citizens ‘
